Alcácer do Sal CastleThis imposing medieval fortress date precisely the twelfth century, was conquered in 1158 by D. Afonso Henriques. D. In the year 1191 the army Almohade reoccupied the fort, until in 1217 the castle was finally in possession of D. Alfonso II.
In the 90s, this monument has undergone profound works of recovery and in 1998 the former space of the convent gave rise to the famous Pousada of Alcacer do Sal
